Attendance

Early Departure/Pick– Up

If your child must leave school before regular dismissal, you must send a handwritten note to school with the designated pick-up time. Please inform your child of the early pick-up time and remind them to meet you in the office. Remember to sign your child out with the front office.

Unscheduled Vacations

In accordance with the state statutes and in an effort to provide all students with continuity of instruction, the Board of Education requires all students to attend school on scheduled days. If you must take your child out of school for a period of time, please notify the classroom teacher as well as the office in advance. Your child should keep a journal while away from school. Completion of missed schoolwork is at the discretion of the teacher. Classroom teachers will not prepare schoolwork for families to take on extended vacations. If you plan to be traveling without your child for a few days and your child will be in someone else’s care, please inform the office and nurse in writing as to who will be responsible for your child during your absence.

Attendance

Attendance Procedures

If your child will not be attending school on a given day for any reason (i.e., sickness, unscheduled vacation, etc.), you must call the attendance line at 834-4950 (this line is available 24 hours a day). You can also email the office staff at fallonk@wiltonps.org.

Tardiness

If your child arrives after 7:40 a.m., he/she must be brought into the office, accompanied by an adult, signed into school and given a late pass. Parents must park in the main lower lot in order to bring the student into school. The parents of habitually tardy children will be contacted and the late dates noted on the student’s permanent record (Please let us know if you have a problem that we can help you solve, as it is so important for your child to begin their day on time.)
