Budget Development Process

The budget process for the Wilton Public Schools begins with the Superintendent's budget proposal. This year, Dr. Kevin Smith, the Superintendent of Schools, presented the proposed 2023-24 budget for Wilton Public Schools at the Board of Education meeting on January 12, 2023.  The proposal is developed by the Superintendent and presented to the school board for review and discussion.

The dates for the steps in the process are as follows:

  • Tuesday, Jan. 24: BOE Budget Workshop 1:00 – 3:00 Miller-Driscoll, Cider Mill, Middlebrook
  • Wednesday, Jan. 25: BOE Budget Workshop 1:00 – 3:00 WHS and Athletics, Special Education
  • Thursday, Jan. 26: BOE Budget Workshop 1:00 – 3:00 Digital Learning, Technology, District
  • Thursday, Feb. 2: 7:00 p.m. BOE begins Budget Deliberations
  • Thursday, Feb. 9:7:00 p.m.  Joint Meeting with Board of Finance

Additionally, we will also post answers to questions provided by community members as they become available.
