Budget Development Process

The budget process for the Wilton Public Schools begins with the Superintendent's budget proposal. This year, Dr. Kevin Smith, the Superintendent of Schools, will present the proposed 2024-25 budget for Wilton Public Schools at the Board of Education meeting on January 11, 2024.  The proposal is developed by the Superintendent and presented to the school board for review and discussion.

 

Below you will find some inportant dates for steps in the process: 

 

  • Tuesday, Jan. 23: BOE Budget Workshop 1:00 – 3:00 Miller-Driscoll, Cider Mill, Middlebrook
  • Wednesday, Jan. 24: BOE Budget Workshop 1:00 – 3:00 WHS and Athletics, Special Education
  • Thursday, January 25: Community Conversation – Zellner Gallery 10:00 a.m.
  • Thursday, Jan. 25: BOE Budget Workshop 1:00 – 3:00 Digital Learning, Technology, District
  • Thursday, January 25: Board of Education Regular Meeting 7:00 p.m. Budget Deliberations begin
  • Thursday, Febuary 1: 7:00 p.m. Board of Education Regular Meeting, Budget Deliberations 
  • Thursday, Febuary 8: Joint Meeting with Board of Finance 7:00 p.m. 
  • Thursday, February 29: Special Meeting – Budget Approval 7:00 p.m.

Additionally, we will also post answers to questions provided by community members as they become available.
