The Wilton Public Schools Library Learning Commons is the central learning space—the "hub"—of each school. Wilton's school libraries are transforming from traditional libraries into modern Learning Commons. These provide:

  • A full program of instruction on information literacy.
  • A wide variety of resources, including:
    • Printed books and materials
    • Online resources
    • "Making" resources (for hands-on projects and creation)
  • Support for the district's Digital Learning Program.

In today's interconnected world, knowing how to find and use information is extremely important. The Library Learning Commons prepares students for new digital skills, such as:

  • Finding and organizing information (curating)
  • Judging the quality of information (evaluating)
  • Combining information from different sources (synthesizing)
  • Creating new content using various formats.

Wilton Public Schools has created a K-12 curriculum to develop students into independent, lifelong learners who use information and ideas effectively, creatively, and ethically.
