General Information

Kindergarten InformationLost and Found

  • Morning pickup times and bus information will be available when the parent portal opens in August of each school year.
  • Please note that pickup times are approximate.
  • Wilton Public Schools does not publish bus routes for security reasons.

General Information

  • Students should arrive at their assigned bus stop 10 minutes earlier than the scheduled pickup time and should be waiting at a place visible to the bus driver. Pickup times vary due to weather and traffic conditions.
  • All buses are equipped with seatbelts and students should be encouraged to use them.
  • Students who must cross the road to board their bus should not use cell phones or electronic devices while crossing. When crossing the road, students must follow these safety steps.
    • Wait until the bus has come to a complete stop.
    • Wait for the crossing gate to open completely.
    • Wait until the driver gives the nod that it is safe to cross.
  • Backpacks and carry-on items must be placed on the student's lap or at their feet.
  • Students must follow bus guidelines to ensure safety.
    • Remain in your seat with your seatbelt fastened.
    • Follow the bus driver’s instructions.
    • Always be respectful and use quiet voices.
    • Keep the bus clean – no eating or drinking.
  • Students are to sit in the first available seat upon boarding the bus and should not move to the rear of the bus unless the bus is full. Middlebrook students are to sit towards the front of the school bus and Wilton High School students are to sit in the rear of the bus.
  • Parents may not board Wilton school buses except in limited circumstances (first week of school - PTA Bus Buddies program, field trip chaperones).
  • Parents/caregivers of students at Miller-Driscoll and Cider Mill must use School Dismissal Manager (SDM) to specify alternate dismissal arrangements. On Early Release/Shortened Days, School Dismissal Manager will default to the student’s home bus assignment.  Parents/caregivers need to update the dismissal plan by 10:00 AM if the student will be riding to an alternate location or activity.
  • School arrival times for all buses at all schools are monitored on a regular basis. Changes to bus routes to correct continuing schedule issues may be necessary. Parents/caregivers will be notified in advance of any changes.
  • Groups of students may not ride alternate buses for after school birthday parties or celebrations. Students may not ride a bus to another school to wait for a sibling or parent pickup. Students may only be picked up from the school they attend.
  • Should you have an emergency that requires immediate action, contact the main office of your child’s school or the transportation office at 203.834.4874.

Kindergarten Information

  • Parents/caregivers are required to wait with their kindergarten child at the bus stop for morning pickup.
  • Kindergarten students MUST be met at the bus stop at the end of the day. If there is no parent/caregiver at the bus stop, the bus company will contact the Miller-Driscoll office and the child will be returned to school to await pick up by a parent or caregiver.
  • Kindergarten students will sit in the first rows of the bus.

Lost and Found

Articles of clothing left on the bus are placed in the Lost and Found bin outside the office at the bus terminal. The bin can be accessed during the day to retrieve lost items and it will be emptied at the end of each month. Items of value (instruments, electronics, etc.) will be brought to the bus company’s office for safekeeping. Contact the bus company directly at 203.762.8600.

We are looking forward to a safe and efficient year transporting our students.  If you have any questions about your child’s bus information, please use the form above.
